The darkest hour of the night is just before dawn, also be aware of the fact that as per the Vedas the darkest hour is called the Brahma muhurta, it is 1 hour and 36 minutes before sunrise. Literally meaning “The Creator’s Hour”, it is traditionally the penultimate phase or muhurta of the night and is considered an auspicious time for all practices of meditation. Spiritual activities performed early in the morning have a greater effect than in any other part of the day.

There has been documentation about a wonderful glowing light descending from the skies into the Manasarovar lake at Brahma muhurta. I had the privilege of being at Manasarovar lake twice, once in 2017 and again in 2018, however, I failed to see these lights descending on the lake. Many people who were with me saw these lights descend. It is one of those celestial events that an individual has to experience to truly understand the magnificence. Manasarovar means the pool of people and at that hour the god’s descent into the pool of people is the crux of the matter. Is it a truth or a myth? I would not bother too much about it anyway.

My experience has been initially waking up at 03:40 am to meditate as an alarm clock-triggered event, then it became a genetically coded event starting my day, now it is my beloved tom cat, he wakes me up every morning to let him down, around 04:15 am. I also realized lately that it is around the same time that the birds also start chirping. This leads me to believe that animals are far more in sync with nature than we humans.

Since we are waking up from sleep, our brain waves are in delta frequency, the lowest possible frequency reflecting the lowest activity of the brain, this is the perfect mental state to penetrate our subconscious and engage with the consciousness.

Now, I am sure you are struggling to see the drift of this blog… I have been lining up the ducks as they say…

  • Brahma muhurta is a documented fact in our Vedas, that is the time when the gods descend into the pool of humanity.
  • Animals are in sync with this phenomenon.
  • Brahma muhurta is the perfect time to meditate, i.e. to drop into our subconscious mind, re-calibrate certain behaviors and connect with the consciousness.

Now, if you can perfect this practice, would you not be free from the human system? For those who believe that waking up early in the morning at 03:40 am is silly, kindly re-think, you are keeping yourself away from a great power that god has bestowed upon mankind to resolve conflicts.

Once you align with the time cycle to connect with the gods at Brahma muhurta every day; everything else that is misaligned will start coming aligned on its own. One small step in the right direction is enough. This has been my personal experience.

It is the natural time and the natural way for conflict resolution, to use the gods as the mediator, does it not make perfect sense since both the conflicting parties are within and the creator is also seated within, he is observing and waiting on you to realize this simple TRUTH.
