In this world, where humanity is swimming in a pool of  VUCA energy created by other’s there is no way anyone can control the happenings of the outer world through external interaction, purely because the external consciousness is the sum total of the disturbed minds of billions of humans.

V – Volatile

U – Uncertain

C – Complex

A – Ambiguous

Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world.

Thus, there is only a few things that we humans can control, and these are the vectors that maintain balance in the inner world. Homeostasis is a biological term used to define the tendency towards a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes.

Definition of Homeostasis: The definition of homeostasis is the ability or tendency to maintain internal stability in an organism to compensate for environmental changes. An example of homeostasis is the human body keeping an average temperature of 98.6 degrees even when the external temperature varies to so that internal life support parameters are in equilibrium.

Bhavana means emotions. Every emotion (good or bad) that you experience triggers a chemical release in the body and this affects the homeostasis of the body. The natural state EVERY-body would like to achieve is that of comfort. If you are the cause of discomfort in anyone’s life, understand that you are creating discomfort for yourself as it adversely affects the inner homeostasis. In a state of homeostasis, you can think of the body as a sophisticated, finely tuned machine, but when emotions such as anger, jealousy, impatience and frustration persist, our internal equilibrium is thrown out of balance.

Calmness within will naturally translate into calmness in your life.

So, really speaking there is only a few parameters that one really needs to learn to manage / process to maintain the inner equilibrium.

  • Breathing – Physical
  • Thoughts – Mental
  • Emotions – Psychological

Once an individual learns to manage these under every circumstance at an optimum level, the outcome is reflected in modulated and clear expression of inner feelings without camouflage/pretence, a clear indication that inner equilibrium is achieved. Such an  individual will find the centre path of life no matter what is happening in the outside world.

  • Thoughts        – Mindfulness and Meditation – This is the ABSOLUTE KEY.
  • Emotions         – Non-reactive to negative external stimuli
  • Breathing         – Exercise – Pranayama and Yoga

Yogas chitta vrtti nirodha is Patanjali’s  definition of  absolute perfection in YOGA.

YOGA = To yoke, to join, to unite

CHITTAConsciousness

VRITTI = Fluctuations

NIRODAH = Quieting of

It means that YOGA is the practice of removing the fluctuations of the mind. When the mind fluctuates and identifies and judges anything as negative, that thing projects itself as being negative on your mind screen,  thus reflecting your perception of anything / anyone, as your reality.

All the above, sounds simple enough but they are not as easy to practice and master. Individuals who manage to master these find their path in life and live a simple, meaningful and joyous life.
